Your TPO antibody levels can indicate your risk of developing hypothyroidism.
Here’s a simple way to look at it:
🧪 TPO antibodies less than 500 = minimal to nonexistent chance of becoming hypothyroid
🧪 TPO antibodies greater than 500 = may progress to hypothyroidism
http://bit.ly/drclarkthyroid Finding out you have a “positive” Thyroid Antibody (TPO/Thyroid peroxidase) test can be scary and confusing. In this video Dr. Clark explains:
• What are Thyroid Antibodies like TPO Thyroid peroxidase and thyroglobulin?
• Why are Thyroid Antibodies tested?
• What do Thyroid antibodies test results mean? How to interpret them.
• What to do if your thyroid antibodies test results are positive
Do you still have these low thyroid symptoms? You could have Hashimoto’s.
• Fatigue
• Hair loss
• Dry Skin
• Constipation
• Depression
• Brain Fog
• Weight Gain
• Infertility

I made this channel because millions of people are suffering with chronic neurological and metabolic problems like autoimmune conditions, diabetes, hypothyroidism, Hashimoto’s, and vertigo/dizziness/balance problems. These men, women and children need someone they can trust to keep up to date with current research and scientific findings…and make this complex information easy to understand and use.
You can expect videos covering these topics (among others):
• Hashimoto’s and Low Thyroid/Hypothyroidism
• Autoimmune conditions (ANA antibodies, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Mixed Connective Tissue Disease)
• Long COVID, Post COVID Autoimmunity
• Neurodevelopmental Problems (Autism Spectrum Disorders, Seizures)
• Vertigo, Meniere’s Disease and other vestibular, dizziness and balance problem
• Neurodegeneration (Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s Disease)
• Celiac Disease, Gluten Sensitivity, Non-Celiac Wheat Sensitivity

Thyroid peroxidase, also called thyroperoxidase (TPO) or iodide peroxidase, is an enzyme expressed mainly in the thyroid.
Thyroid peroxidase oxidizes iodide ions to form iodine atoms for addition onto tyrosine residues on thyroglobulin for the production of thyroxine (T4) or triiodothyronine (T3), the thyroid hormones.
In humans, thyroperoxidase is encoded by the TPO gene.
Thyroid peroxidase is a frequent epitope of autoantibodies in autoimmune thyroid disease, ..autoantibodies like anti-thyroid peroxidase antibodies (anti-TPO antibodies).
This is most commonly associated with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. Thus, an antibody titer can be used to assess disease activity in patients that have developed such antibodies. Video Rating: / 5
